Assessment of Prescription Opioid Medical Use and Misuse Among Parents and Their Adolescent Offspring in the US

This is an academic paper that examines the risk of prescription opioid misuse among children of parents that report using prescription opioids. The study did find an increased risk suggested that restricting the availability and accessibility of prescription opioids in the home, such as drug disposal, drop boxes, and lock boxes, is an important intervention area to decrease adolescent prescription opioid misuse.
